Together for Girls, Inc. Welcomes Nicolette Naylor and Brandi Robinson to its Board of Directors

Nicolette Naylor and Brandi Robinson will strengthen Together for Girls leadership in exciting new phase of the partnership

 

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 19, 2022 Together for Girls, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence against children, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicolette Naylor and Brandi Robinson to our Board of Directors.

 

“We are thrilled that Brandi and Nicolette are joining our Board,” said Dr. Daniela Ligiero, Executive Director and CEO of Together for Girls. “As the Together for Girls partnership continues to grow and expand, these two strategists bring deep expertise and insight that are invaluable to furthering our mission.”

 

Founded in 2009, Together for Girls is a global partnership working to end violence against children and adolescents, particularly sexual violence against girls. The partnership brings together more than 20 national governments, civil society organizations, UN entities, development partners, and the private sector to improve violence prevention, healing, and justice. Together for Girls Inc., the 501(c)3 arm of the partnership, enables greater participation of the private and philanthropy sectors in supporting the work of the partnership and its coordinating body, the Together for Girls Secretariat.

 

Board members oversee Together for Girls, Inc.’s strategic plan, funding and organizational governance while also supporting its mission, vision, and values. Nicolette Naylor, Global Strategic Leader & Experienced Executive

Nicolette Naylor is a global strategic leader and experienced executive with over two decades of experience leading strategies at the intersection of justice, feminism, and philanthropy.

 

She has spent over fifteen years working within the Ford Foundation, where she led the Ford Foundation’s Southern Africa office and International Program on Gender, Racial & Ethnic Justice. She has managed diverse teams across New York, India, West Africa, Southern Africa, and Latin America. Her work has focused on gender justice, gender-based violence, and increasing resources for movements in the global South. She is committed to strengthening the feminist funding ecosystem for BIPOC women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals. 

 

She has philanthropic and legal experience in the fields of human rights and governance at the Pan-African and global level working in the field of HIV/AIDS discrimination; sexual & reproductive justice; GBV; land rights and extractivism; economic justice; gender and racial justice and the role of local philanthropy in Africa.

Brandi Robinson, Communications Executive & Business Strategist

Brandi Robinson is an accomplished communications leader who brings more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals/biotechnology, medical device, and consumer health industries. She specializes in strategic communications, media relations, issues management, product communications, patient education campaigns, corporate reputation, corporate social responsibility and internal communications.

 

Brandi most recently was Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and executive team member for Avadel Pharmaceuticals where she was responsible for communications, government affairs, patient advocacy, and corporate social responsibility. Prior to Avadel, she was Senior Vice President & Chief Communications Officer at Mallinckrodt plc. She has also led communications for Seattle Genetics as Senior Vice President, Communications, Sanofi US as Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications, North America and spent a number of years at Novartis in roles of increasing responsibility, including Vice President and Head of Communications, North America. Brandi also held key roles at healthcare-focused public relations firms and nonprofit organizations.
