Namibia Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS) report 2021 (data collection 2019)


In 2019, the Government of Namibia launched the Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS), with technical assistance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of the Together for Girls partnership. The VACS measure multiple forms of violence against children and adolescents including sexual, physical, and emotional; they also provide important data on risk factors, protective factors, and consequences of violence. In 2021, the Government of Namibia launched its official VACS report.

Partners included:

  • Government: Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare, and Namibia Statistics Agency.
  • Bilateral and multilateral organization: CDC, PEPFAR, and UNICEF.
  • Non-government: International Training and Education Center for Health at the University of Washington (I-TECH/UW).
