Together for Girls wins Silver Anthem Award for ‘Best Use of Data’ in Human & Civil Rights category, honoring groundbreaking campaign to end childhood sexual violence

20th November 2025

NEW YORK (Nov. 18, 2025) — Together for Girls (TfG), a global partnership dedicated to ending violence against children and adolescents, is proud to announce that its Break the Record Campaign has been honored with a 2025 Silver Anthem Award for “Best Use of Data” in the Human & Civil Rights category. TfG’s award-winning campaign was designed to “break the record” of inaction by using world-first data to spotlight the global prevalence of childhood sexual violence—earning a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most countries represented at a childhood violence summit during the Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in Bogotá (Nov 7–8, 2024).

The campaign, developed with cummins&partners, leveraged key statistics from extensive research by Together for Girls and UNICEF, with the first-ever significant measure of the extent of global sexual violence against children. This data revealed that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 7 boys will experience some form of sexual violence before their 18th birthday. The research compiled data representing 193 countries, relevant to the experiences of 2.4 billion young people.

Sexual violence against children (SVAC) is persistent, widespread, and devastating, yet we know there are proven solutions to prevent it,” said Dr. Daniela Ligiero, CEO of Together for Girls and founder of the Brave Movement. This world-first effort, measuring the experiences of billions of young people, transforms our understanding of SVAC and is already spurring governments to take action. We are deeply honored by this Anthem Award, which validates the power of data to drive human rights advocacy.

The Anthem Awards, an initiative developed by the prestigious Webby Awards, celebrate mission-driven work that fosters global change and positive social impact in areas like human rights, diversity, and sustainability.

Opportunities like this are rare. A chance to create work that’s both bold and genuinely impactful. Winning an Anthem Award affirms what we set out to do,” said Louis Lunts, Partner and Managing Director of cummins&partnersNYC. “‘Break The Record’ paired groundbreaking creative with powerful research to spotlight the global crisis of childhood sexual violence and influence the largest-ever summit on childhood violence. This recognition highlights the scale and urgency of that mission. This award belongs to our entire team and partners who poured everything into this campaign, and we couldn’t be prouder of the impact we’ve made together.

The findings were unveiled in a ‘Break the Record’ book, which offers a practical framework to end childhood sexual violence. ‘Break The Record’ – co-written and designed by cummins&partnersNYC – features groundbreaking new research conducted by Together for Girls, UNICEF, and other partners.

The Anthem Award recognizes the campaign's innovative approach in utilizing data not just for reporting, but as a critical tool for global advocacy and measurable social impact.
