The Guatemala Youth Survey (GYS) was led by the Government of Guatemala in 2019. The survey report launched in November 2023.
The Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance led the survey with support from the International Organization on Migration (OIM), the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, USAID Central America Regional Security Initiative, and USAID Guatemala.
Unlike the VACS, the GYS is a convenience sample survey and the data is not nationally representative. However, due to the large sample size, data yields important and valuable information about the experiences of adolescents and young adults who participated in the survey to inform country priorities.
