As part of the Niñas Poderosas initiative, Tejiendo Redes Infancia and Together for Girls organized a gathering to create a space for intergenerational dialogue, sisterhood, and collective action, where young women were able to share their initiatives.
Even in the face of challenges, seeds of hope can take root. When we support girls and young women to develop leadership skills and build networks of support and sisterhood, they become critical agents of social change towards equality.
Change is possible, and violence is preventable. By implementing evidence-based policies and targeted interventions we can end violence against children.
With data from 23 countries we've successfully created evidence-based solutions to reduce violence against young girls, including ending child marriage and other harmful norms. See the VACS in action.
Every child deserves to be safe at home, in their communities, and at school. However, findings from the VACS show that many children experience school-related gender-based violence. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Together for Girls talks with Dr. Andrés Villaveces MD, MPH, Ph.D. to learn more about his experience in the field and what inspires him to do this critical work.
