Catalyzing survivor-centered movement for transformational change

Ending violence against children cannot be solved by a single actor or sector alone. Only by working together can we break cycles of violence and create a safer world for all children and adolescents.

Together for Girls connects and aligns diverse groups around a shared vision to drive meaningful change.  As part of our advocacy pillar, we catalyze movements of survivors and allies to end sexual violence against children.

The Brave Movement to End Childhood Sexual Violence brings together survivors and allies from around the world to end all forms of sexual violence against children everywhere. Our survivor-centered movement is focused on advocacy for bold public policy solutions and campaigns to shift societal norms, eradicating survivor stigma and breaking the silence that enables sexual violence to continue. Together for Girls is proud to have catalyzed the Brave Movement. We conceived the vision in 2019 and officially launched the Brave Movement with a broad range of partners and survivor advocates in 2022. Read more about our work with the Brave Movement here.

Keep Kids Safe V1a 1 - BRAVE MOVEMENTThe Brave Movement’s sister movement in the United States, Keep Kids Safe, is aimed at ending sexual violence against children and adolescents through federal-level advocacy. In 2020, Together for Girls co-launched Keep Kids Safe with Darkness to Light, the National Children’s Alliance, CHILD USA, Prevent Child Abuse America, SNAP, The Army of Survivors, RAINN, and the Monique Burr Foundation for Children.

In 2021, Keep Kids Safe released the U.S. National Blueprint to End Sexual Violence Against Children and Adolescents, a roadmap outlines steps the United States federal government can take to prevent sexual violence against children and adolescents, and ensure that those who experience sexual violence have access to the healing and justice. We are more powerful together

At Together for Girls, we believe there is strength in numbers. There is power in using data and evidence to inform policies and programs, and there is power in people working together toward a shared goal. Through data and advocacy, we drive action to end violence against children and adolescents.

Ultimately, we have a hopeful message: Sexual violence against children is preventable. Together, we can ensure there is the political will to create change for children and adolescents. Together, we can amplify the voices of brave survivors and break the culture of silence. Together, we can create a safer world.
