The Ethiopia Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS) provides crucial insights into the nature, prevalence, and consequences of violence against children in the country, to guide the Government of Ethiopia in its programmatic and policy decisions to prevent and respond to violence against children and youth.
The survey was conducted between April 2022 and August 2022 in six regions and two city administrations of Ethiopia.
The Ethiopia VACS was led by the Government of Ethiopia through the Ethiopian Statistical Service (ESS) with support from ICAP at Columbia University in collaboration with local partners, including the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Health. Technical assistance for the VACS was provided by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and funding support from U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
