The economic burden of violence against children: Nigeria study

Childhood violence is strongly associated with poor physical and mental health, and educational attainment in Nigeria. Information on the economic burden of violence against children in Nigeria and its budget implications are needed for planning, investment, and improving violence prevention aimed at children.

Using data from the 2014 Nationally Representative Survey on Violence Against Children (NVACS), this report estimated the economic burden of violence against children to Nigerian society through its impacts on selected health and education outcomes.
