In 2024, the Government of Tanzania launched the second Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS) — to measure progress made since the 2011 VACS and identify emerging trends in violence against children — with technical assistance and quality assurance monitoring from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as part of the Together for Girls partnership.
The VACS measure multiple forms of violence against children and adolescents including sexual, physical, and emotional; they also provide important data on risk factors, protective factors, and consequences of violence.
