Mozambique Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS) report 2022 (data collection 2019)


In 2019, the Government of Mozambique launched the Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS), with technical assistance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of the Together for Girls partnership. The VACS measure multiple forms of violence against children and adolescents: sexual, physical, and emotional, and they provide important data on risk factors, protective factors, and consequences of violence. In 2022, the Government of Mozambique launched its official VACS report.

  • Government: Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Action, Ministry of Health, National Institute of Health, and National Institute of Statistics.
  • Bilateral and multilateral organization: CDC, UNICEF, and PEPFAR.
