Preventing violence & HIV

In 2009, Together for Girls was founded to address a disturbing trend: Girls and young women are disproportionately affected by HIV.

Adolescent girls and young women are up to 14 times more likely to have HIV than their male counterparts, according to the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

Our partnership brings a public health approach to the human rights issue of sexual violence.

We know achieving gender equality and ending violence against girls and women is critical to creating an HIV-free world.
