The Honduras Subsecretary of Security led the implementation of the Honduras VACS in 2017. In May 2019, they launched the Honduras Violence Against Children Survey 2017.
Key highlights include:
16% of girls experienced sexual violence in childhood.
32% of girls experienced physical violence in childhood.
16% of girls and young women who experienced pressured or physically forced sex reported a resultant pregnancy.
Among girls who have experienced sexual violence, less than 6% of girls received help.
10% of boys experienced sexual violence in childhood.
30% of boys experienced physical violence in childhood.
Among boys who have experienced sexual violence, less than 1% of boys received help
